Chandni Chowk - Delhi

Business is the lifeline of Chandni Chowk. Traditional families pursue some generations-old trade, primarily in cloth and jeweler. The Dariba street houses exclusively jewellery shops, the Kinari Bazaar specializes in lace work. No Delhi marriage or even a school dance and drama function is not complete without a purchase from this place.

Chandni Chowk is the pulse of the business world in Delhi. It is still one of the biggest shopping centers in the capital, with a centuries old tradion in spite of the emergence of a number of new market places all over the town. Chandni Chowk which starts from Red Fort and ends at grand Fatehpuri mosque, still boasts of a few shops which had been opened in Shahjehan's time and are still in business. It has the famous cloth market and the Electrical Market, the biggest of their kind in Asia.
